Poker room at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh reopens tomorrow

10 November 2020

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Pittsburghers can put their poker faces back on, after an eight-month hiatus. Live poker resumes Wednesday at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh after closing 15 March, along with the rest of the casino, to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The casino’s gaming floor reopened on Tuesday, 9 June.

The Rivers Casino Pittsburgh poker room will be open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday from noon to 4 a.m., and Sunday from noon to midnight. Rivers Casino will be offering the following games at this time: 1/3 No Limit Texas Hold’em and Higher, and 1/3 Pot Limit Omaha and Higher.

As always, safety for guests and Team Members is top priority. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh follows best practices from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and meets or exceeds all COVID-19 Casino Reopening Protocols announced by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB). Additionally, Rivers Casino adheres to all guidelines issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and meets all operating requirements set by the Allegheny County Health Department.

In addition to the existing casino-wide safety measures, the following precautions are in effect for the poker room:

- Spectators are not permitted.

- Face coverings are required at all times.

- Seating will be limited to a maximum of seven players per table.

- All chips from a prior visit must be exchanged at the cashier before being seated.

- Prior to sitting at a live poker game, all guests must use hand sanitizer. Use of hand sanitizer is required prior to receiving gaming chips and cards.

- No eating or smoking will be permitted.

"The poker room is an integral part of our gaming offerings here at Rivers Casino," said Andre Barnabei, vice president of gaming at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. "We’re really looking forward to welcoming our poker players back and reactivating our poker room staff. There will be new safety procedures, but the same great action."
